A Non-Binary Perspective

Politically, I guess I’m non-binary. That has nothing to do with gender – I’m a “cis-gender” heterosexual male.  And I see the Left as populated by the many misguided, unwittingly promoting the lust for power of their leftist leadership.

Although I began my political life identifying as a liberal Democrat, subsequent years revealed to me that the Left represented the antithesis of the individual Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness our constitutional republic was founded to protect. Their constant refrain of civil rights rings hollow as one thinks about their attacks on our Bill of Rights. So, I see the Left as a threat to the United States, and I’m done with them.

There’s a Cato Institute report on Politically Motivated Violence currently making the rounds that’s being cited as the source of the idea that right-wing violence is far more prevalent than left-wing, with 391 right-wing murders as opposed to 65 left-wing murders since 1975 (is the U.S. political landscape unchanged from 50 years ago?).  From the source (Nowrasteh, 2025):

The definition here of right-wing terrorists includes those motivated by white supremacy, anti-abortion beliefs, involuntary celibacy (incels), and other right-wing ideologies.

Seeing the Left as an organized, mendacious existential threat by no stretch of the imagination makes me a white supremacist, anti-abortionist, incel (right-wing?), fascist, etc.

It seems the Left’s strategy is to so tar any opposition that their herdlings will conclude that the only way to forestall a fascist takeover is to accept one’s fate and become a socialist-cum-communist supporter/soldier. Somehow, they’ve cultivated this binary idea that a leftist tyranny will be much better than the “only” alternative, a right-wing tyranny.

And it’s unlikely that the Left will ever (want to) be free of the right-wing extremists, as they are an effective galvanizing tool.

It’s tempting to go on ad nauseam with why I’m disgusted with the Left, but the leitmotif here is that there are non-binary perspectives. It’s not uncommon; I’ve seen people describe themselves as fiscally conservative, socially liberal, which, well, you know what they mean, even though the contemporary usage of “liberal” as degraded by progressivism is a far cry from how the word is otherwise used.

I’m still waiting to see someone describe themselves as fiscally liberal, socially conservative.

Of course, while those who vote right are hardly represented by how the right wing is described above, neither are all of those who vote left desirous of socialistic government overreach, or even rooting for left-driven political murder – they’re just scared by the Big Lie.
